
Carries Gate is a traditional two bedroom Lakeland stone miners’ cottage dating back to the 1860’s where you can enjoy a genuine home from home experience, including high quality broadband for you to keep connected with the outside world. A sunny garden just across the lane from the cottage gives you the choice to eat al fresco and watch the sunset slowly over the lake. Two private parking spaces are available at the end of the terrace

A cosy lounge with deep cushioned seating arranged around a warming wood burning stove, for tired dogs to snooze in front of after a hard days walk across the fells. There’s also a Smart TV with free OnDemand and Netflix accounts, plus a great selection of books and games for those rainy days.

Newly refurbished, fully fitted modern luxury kitchen with ceramic floor tiles, electric oven, 5 burner gas hob, integrated dishwasher and washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and built-in microwave.


Bedrooms

Carrie’s Gate has two good sized bedrooms – The front bedroom has stunning lake views for you to enjoy whilst sipping your morning cuppa. It has a double bed, plenty of fitted storage and solid pine furnishings. The spacious family bedroom to the rear of the cottage has double and a single beds, ideal for multi generational extended family holidays.


Bathroom

Located on the ground floor, the bathroom has a large shower cubicle, vanity unit sink , illuminated mirror, WC and heated towel rail.
Utility room

For your furry friends to enjoy rub down after a day on the fells, the cottage has a useful rear boot room which provides extra storage and is great for boots, soggy dogs and wet clothing. From the rear courtyard there is direct access to the footpath to the Old Man.
Outside

Carrie’s Gate enjoys a detached garden overlooking the lake and beyond with patio furniture provided. Private parking for two cars is available at the end of the terrace.
For a leisurely day you can stroll from the cottage to the lake shore area and indulge in a relaxing trip on the National Trusts faithfully restored steamboat Gondola, followed by afternoon tea & cake at the Bluebird Café, featured in recent TV drama’s set in the Lakes.
